Welcome to the chronic pain club.

A club no one signs up for, and everyone wants out of.

I developed widespread, chronic pain at 22. It lasted five years. I saw dozens of doctors and tried everything: physical therapy, injections, supplements. Nothing really helped.

I stopped doing things I loved—like walking with friends and going to dance classes. Pain ruled my life.

But the hardest part wasn’t the pain itself...

It was how alone I felt. It seemed like I was drifting without a map—like I was the captain of my own ship but had no idea where to steer. What I needed most was someone to say:
“You’re not making this up. You’re not broken. You can get better.”

When people suggested my pain was “in my head,” it felt insulting. My pain was very real and intense. It took me years to accept that understanding my brain could actually be part of my healing.

Eventually, I found my way forward—not through one method, but through a combination:

  • Learning about pain science, to finally understand what was happening in my brain and body
  • Pain Reprocessing Therapy and cognitive tools, to reframe my thoughts and desensitize my nervous system
  • Graded Exposure Therapy, to regain trust in my body and feel safe moving again

Now? I take dance classes. I go on long walks with friends.
I can move again—not just physically, but through my life.

But what worked for me might not work for you, and that’s okay. Different techniques click for different people. But finding them, understanding them, and trying them shouldn’t feel inaccessible. Or expensive. Or boring.

That’s why we built Pep.

Pep brings all these research-backed approaches together into one structured program that’s actually fun and engaging.

Research shows that these techniques can help around 80% of people with chronic pain. If you’re curious, take our quick quiz to see if Pep might be a good fit.

I hope Pep helps you find your way.
