At Pep, your privacy matters to us. We’re committed to transparency and giving you control over your data. Pep is designed with privacy as a priority, and we’re continuously working to strengthen our practices.

Data We Collect

We collect the following information:

• App usage data (features used, activity timing)
• Support requests and related messages you send us

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve Pep’s services
• To troubleshoot issues and respond to support requests

OpenAI Integration

Pep uses OpenAI’s technology to generate AI-based responses. Conversations may be processed by OpenAI to generate replies. We do not send personally identifiable information (PII) to OpenAI unless you explicitly include it in your inputs. OpenAI does not use your data to train its models.

Analytics and User Identification

To help us improve Pep during our early launch phase, we link your email address to your usage data in our internal analytics dashboard. This allows us to monitor engagement, track onboarding, and troubleshoot issues more effectively.

This linkage:

• Is used exclusively for internal analytics and troubleshooting
• Is never used for marketing or advertising purposes
• Does not apply to sensitive data, which is stored using anonymized user IDs (UUIDs)
• Is planned for removal in future updates as we transition to fully anonymized analytics

Data Sharing and Third-Party Services

• We never sell your personal information
• We never share your data with advertisers
• We work with trusted partners like OpenAI and Supabase, who follow strict data protection protocols

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely in the United States.

We use the following safeguards:

• Data in transit is encrypted using secure protocols.
• Data stored in our database is not currently encrypted at rest. However:
  • Sensitive journaling and activity data is stored separately from your personal identifiers (such as your email address).
  • This means your sensitive information is associated only with a random user ID (UUID) and cannot be directly linked to your identity within our database.
• Access to personal data is restricted to authorized personnel for operational and support purposes, with strict access controls in place.

We will introduce encryption at rest in future updates, inclduing encrypting any data already stored in our database.

Data Retention

We retain your data as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all related data by contacting us at admin@ourpep.com.

You have the right to:

• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Request details about the data we store about you

Children’s Privacy
